There are two things that you can?t go out in to the world these days without seeing all around you: iPods and Sudoku. On every bus, in every coffee shop, and standing in every increasingly-longer Christmas shopping line there will be at least one person who has their mind tuned in to their iPod and at least one person who is rapidly penciling numbers in to the boxes of their Sudoku puzzle book.

Why not get on top of the trends and combine the two? Most iPod owners know that Apple began providing games to users through the iTunes site just a few short months ago. One of the two newest games on the short list which can currently be downloaded at the iTunes store is Sudoku. The game costs less than $5 and can be downloaded as easily as music is through the iTunes site.

Japanese manufacturer Logitec (not to be confused with Logitech) has come up with an industry first portable slot/ front load DVD drive.

The LDR-PMC9U2 supports standard format CDs and DVDs and can be powered through the USB port. A slim 0.7 inches thick, the maximum read/write specifications are 8x DVD?R/+RW, 5x DVD-RAM, 6x DVD-RW, 4x DVD+R DL/-R DL, 24x CD-R/-RW 24, 8x DVD-ROM and 24x CD-ROM.

This will hit Japan’s retail outlets at the end of the month and costs around $200. It has yet to be determined whether the company will attempt to sell it within the US consumer market.
