Sony has solved PS3 manufacturing/ shipment issues according to the official statement from communications boss David Karraker. While they didn’t meet the launch target of 400,000 systems, Karraker says that the target of they are on target for a million systems by the end of the year.

Karraker’s comments come after research firm NPD published a new report showing that 197,000 PS3 units were sold during November - and since the console quickly sold out, that means the number of units shipped was less than half SCEA’s target of 400,000 for launch day.

“We will continue to utilize airfreight delivery for PlayStation 3 to assure a steady stream of systems for North American consumers through the end of the year.”

Seems like there is a faint ray of light for those wanting the PS3 this year. I emphasize the word faint.
