Things are going well for Searchles, a social networking site I reviewed a couple of weeks ago.
The company today announced that they have secured $300,000 through its second round of angel funding. Original investors were involved together with new participation led by Mark Walsh — a pioneer of Internet and one known for leading hyper growth in emerging markets.
Searchles is a highly scalable “social search” platform that showcases expertise, enables collaboration with peers and instantly captures it in searchable knowledge indexes. The platform is a hybrid, combining aspects of “social bookmarking” and “social networking” technology with analytical “social search” capability to allow for network search.
The announcement coincides with news of extra features to include user recognition (ranking top users and groups like Digg used to do) and user controls.
