Is this the next generation projector? This brings to reality the projection technology we have seen in movies like Star Wars and Paycheck.
IO2 Technology gives you a display device that projects an open-air holographic like image called the Heliodisplay M2. Deemed by IO2 to not replace traditional projectors yet, this device provides a novel way to display the company’s logo and other collateral at exhibitions and presentation.
The Heliodisplay M2 specs out at 28.3” x 15.9″ x 9.3″ and projects a 30 inch diagonal floating image about 28 inches above the projector. The resolution supports up to 1280 x 1024 and projected images can be viewed within a 150 degree maximum angle without any flicker. The M2 currently uses as much power as its larger video projector counterparts with a 30 frames per second refresh rate. The upgraded M2i model adds a proprietary projected image control called Heliocast. Heliocast utilizes cursor control interactive capabilities enabling ‘virtual’ control of the mouse to interact with floating images.
Currently costing a little less than $20,000. IO2 plans more portable smaller versions in the future.
